This new Saturday
series for middle- and high school students, inspired
by the National Society of Black Engineers TORCH
(Technical OutReach Community Help) model, was
kicked off in January 2002.
Our TORCH workshops run concurrently with our
adult Inside Stuff workshops, to encourage family
participation. In these half-day workshops, TORCH
participants use technology to get a hands-on
introduction to engineering, math, and science
concepts and careers. All topics are presented
in ways that help participants make a connection
to the technologies and science-related concepts
that shape their everyday life.
The TORCH Program is for middle and high school
students and runs every 3rd Saturday of the month
from 8:30am - 2:00pm. Space is limited and participants
MUST confirm each Wednesday prior to the program.
