SUMMER SWAT classes 2007
 

Dates:         Each SWAT class runs 1 week for 4 hours (half days).
                   Students are allowed to register for only 1 class

 

Morning classes run from 9am-1pm ; Afternoon classes run from 2pm-6pm

Location:     IIT campus located (33 & Federal – Hermann Hall – Ste 115)

Overview:    Students attend a specific SWAT class: Video, Video Editing, Web Site development, or Computer repair. Each class covers how to successfully complete the basic tasks. Students who successfully complete the SWAT class will be invited to participate in 3 apprenticeship opportunities. During the apprenticeships, students will work with instructors performing tasks they have learned in Swat classes. Successful completers of the apprenticeships will graduate to the TaskForce. TaskForce students will be hired to assist with events or activities in the community and be paid on a contractor basis.

Fees:   $49 per student 1/2 day Class ($29 non-refundable fee included)
            $98 per student - for Full day Class

            Make checks out to: Digital Media Center. Visa and MC accepted.

Acceptance requirements

  • Completed and paid registration

  • ONLY one SWAT class is permitted per summer

  • Student: Ages 13-17 (grades 8-12th)

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency. Multimedia and/or Video experience a plus.

Students accepted to the program will receive a confirmation of their acceptance within 5 days of the confirmation of the application. Payment is due immediately after acceptance; applicants are subject to cancellation if payment is not received within 5 days of acceptance.
