Give us a hand! The DMC always needs extra people to help keep our programs running. Volunteer participants shall serve as representatives of the IIT and as ambassadors for technology, engineering, science, math and college education. Most of our volunteer opportunities are event or program driven (See some of our available opportunities below). You, as our volunteer, will have very little to worry about during your working period. As a student, busy staff member, alumnus, or working professional, we know you have many many more things to worry about AND want your volunteering to be smooth and painless. Therefore, in most cases transportation, tee-shirts (maybe), badges and everything else you will need will be provided. All you have to do is show up to the DMC 15min before your shift and we will take it from there.

Our volunteer program has 2 levels of service:

Megabyte Volunteers

·         Work only one of the available 2-2.5 hour timeslots per semester.

Gigabyte Volunteers

·         Work multiple volunteer slots. More than 20 hours of volunteer hours per semester adds you to our gigabyte volunteers.

AND 2 levels of expertise

Volunteer General

·         No special requirements. Be computer literate and capable of assisting anyone on pointing and clicking in following directions given by the instructor
 

Volunteer Tech (more strenuous volunteering opportunities)

·         Must have some talent in one of the areas: Video, Audio, Software, Hardware. Volunteers in this category may be called on to facilitate a workshop, assist in repairing a computers with our Inside Stuff program, run a Video Camera. Relevant events will specify the type of volunteer tech required.
